With a strong heart and an urge to give selflessly, Priscilla Trejo is the definition of persistence. As a Hispanic born in the St. Joseph County, she has seen the community’s struggle for prosperity and desperate change, and is determined to make an impact – large or small. With softball being a large factor in her childhood, and even today, her devotion to the sport is clear. For the past seven years, she has volunteered every summer at her local little league, working long hours and with no payback other than the satisfying feeling of hard work.
As a way of taking advantage of all life has to offer, she takes part in as many extracurricular programs as she can, including her school’s FRC Robotics team, any available internships involving medicine, and volunteering at school to work concessions. Priscilla believes that Startup Moxie will help improve her confidence and push her out of her comfort zone, resulting in a better character overall. She looks forward to constantly expanding her mind and ways of thinking, in terms of the way businesses (specifically local) are born and the real-life challenges they face.
“My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style.” – Maya Angelou
