Jasmyne Schierbaum is a senior at Mishawaka High School. She’s played softball for the Lady Cavemen for the past three years, and last year became a member of the school’s National Honors Society. This year, she is her school’s Student Council President and a Junior Kiwanis Club member. Both of these positions give Jasmyne many new opportunities to get involved in the community. Over the summer, she was one of 20 young artists to be accepted to Notre Dame’s Summer Art Apprenticeship program, and was able to display 10 of her best works in the Snite Museum of Art. Jasmyne spends much of her free-time painting or drawing. She hopes that one day, she can turn her passion into a livelihood. Jasmyne plans to double major Illustration and Business at either Kendall College of Art and Design at Ferris State, or Herron College of Art and Design at IUPUI.
“Being a member of St. Joe County’s first Startup Moxie class is an honor. I have learned so much already from the wonderful people who have inspired us with their stories. It is so much more than just a business class, it is making me a better person. It’s exciting to see my classmates grow alongside me as we all learn more about ourselves.”
